Nepal is a truly magical and fascinating place - the gateway to the Himalayas. Though you can't fly direct from South Africa, Etihad is a fantastic airline with a short lay-over in Abu Dhabi. Once you are in Nepal and would like to travel to the national park from Kathmandu, you can take a short 20 minute plane ride on Buddha Airways. The views on this flight are truly spectacular, as are those when departing Kathmandu. I have been working on a project in Chitwan the past 6 months so I have been very privileged to experience the breath-taking beauty. Watch this space everyone - Meghauli Serai (a Taj Safaris lodge) is soon to open!! You can follow me as I embark on further travels to Zambia, India and hopefully Mozambique!
